here's the whole dream
I was in a boat in a place that is very special...the sea was great and at one point, red and blue lines appeared on the water and when I looked at the sky, it was purple and I saw a bright rainbow forming and when I looked in the back there was a big rock, and right above the rock, the sun was very bright and then it started to set
any ideas??

They are just words out of context. A dream is a story you tell yourself, about yourself. Try writing it out in more detail, in a complete story, who, what, where, why, and how, as much detail as you can remember, without the story of how these symbols fit together in the dream, they are just words, really. They sound pretty:)....so there's a boat in your dream, that's nice. Were you in a boat on the sea? Was the sea choppy, or calm? Was the sky purple because there was a storm? (that would explain the sunset /rainbow, I guess) but without that sort of information, they are just a bunch of words, you can look up some guy's opinion of what they mean as individual symbols, but it depends on the story line to help get you there...........as you can see by the other answers, you have not provided anything that anyone can interpret for you.........
Edit: Thanks for providing a story line, over all it sounds like you have found yourself in a place in your life that sounds harmonious, stable, and optimistic, the future looks bright here, hopeful (rainbow = hope)..... This may mark the ending of a time when things were not quite so rosy (sunset =ending, time for rest, healing) But things are "solid as a rock" now....

It sounds as if you lead a colorful life full of emotion and love. Your dream was merely reviewing your circumstances. Many colors in a dream would signify being colorful. Water relates to emotion. Bright Sun would mean you have warmth and happiness, the boat would keep you from drowning, it is a place of safety in the sea, see? Lucky you! Keep having pleasant dreams.....
