I'm a big health freak and I would appreciate if someone who has a cat or studies cats can answer me.

Don't worry, your cat's butt is pretty clean. They lick their butts all the time. FYI, maybe you should be more worried about your cat licking you after it's licked its butt.

Depends on how hard he's sitting.

If you're worried about sanitation, use soap and water. Remember his FEET will have been in the litter box at some point and are just as unsanitary as the butt. ALL pets have a certain degree of unsanitary to them, just as people have.

i would think that it would be touching the sink..because there is nothing there to block it..
