There is a type of contact solution (i forget the brand) that you are supposed to use only in the little test-tube looking container. My boyfriend accidentally put it in a case (which the bottle warns you not to do) and the instant I put them in my eyes, a terrible burning sensation occured and my eyes are beet red and still hurt. Has this happened to anyone before? Do you think it's ok if I don't go to the doctor?

Also, it could have been the antibacterial hand cream that I used prior to putting them in my eyes that could have caused it. However, when I tried putting my other one in, I didn't even use it. That's why I'm assuming it was the solution.. Someone please help me!

Get the saline solution and rinse your eyes out as much as you can. Your eyes will be red and hurt for a while. If it is the same tomorrow call the eye doctor but you should be ok. Put your contacts in the test tube looking container with the disk nuetralizer and redisinfect them. After wards you can rinse them very well in your saline solution. You should wait at least a few days to use them.

rinse your eyes with clean water, or saline solution. Possibly the strangest solution is to use expressed breast milk to bathe the eye (used this when i breastfeeding my son. splashed bleach in my eye, rinsed with water, still painful, then rinsed with expressed breast milk. worked quickly, with no damage to the eye or my skin). The next best thing if you don't have access to breastmilk is full cream cow's milk. I'ts soothes most sore eye problems, just put a few drops in your eyes and blink a few times. Usually, your vision will go blurry for a minute or two, then you're fine. i use this one after i've been in the pool for a few hours and my eyes are stinging.

Let some cool water in the sink run over your eyes, rinse them for a good 5 minutes. Then, cover your eyes and lie for a few minutes. I bet your eyes will feel better.

What I do is, i simply put my eyedrops in a small cup, and I hold the cup to my eye, with my eye open. What is best is if you refrigerate the eye drops, so that you can soothe your eye! It really works. But make sure your eye is open, otherwise it won't work! Hope you feel better!
