i want to make cookies for my new neighbors how do i make them from scratch...more sugar cookies or peanutbutter cookies either one is yummy..any help???

AMAZING PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

1 cup peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 large egg
(can double or triple recipe)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Place rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet (s).
Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes or until a thin crust forms covering all of the cookie. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP AN EYE ON THEM!

PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

Makes about 36 cookies.

1/2 cup butter - softened
1/2 cup peanut butter - creamy or chunky
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar OR 1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg - room temperature
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium or high for 30 seconds. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Beat until combines, scraping sides of bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can then stir in any remaining flour. Cover an chill dough until easy to handle.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Form the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in extra granulated sugar to coat. Place balls 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten the balls by making a criss-cross shape with the tines of a fork. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until bottoms are brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.

SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES - a type of Sugar Cookie

1/2 cup butter - softened
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
1 egg
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a medium mixing bowl beat softened butter for 30 seconds with an electric mixer. Add the 1 cup of sugar, baking powder and cream of tartar. Beat until well combined, scraping bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of he flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in any remaining flour. Cover and chill for 1 hour or until the dough is easy to handle.

Combine the 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the sugar mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden then transfer to wire rack to cool.

Makes about 36 cookies.

Sugar Jumbles
Mix together thoroughly
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
add
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
Stir together and stir in
1 cup and 2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar if desired. Bake 8-10 minutes until delicately browned...cookies should still be soft. Cool slightly...then remove from baking sheet

3 doz. 2" cookies

Sugar cookies are better to make. More people like them, and they are really easy to make if your just starting out.

Look around online for good recipes (or ask here).

nestles chips has a great rescipe for tall house...
im sure its still on the package

but the basic rescipe is butter, 1 stick.. 2 cups sugar..1 cup shifted cake flour or all purpose..
and u can add anything else u like to it..

Follow the recipe no just eye balling it! use measuring cups and do what the recipe calls for, you will get the best results
