Everything is made of chemicals, and chemicals come from nature, so isn't EVERYTHING "100% Natural"?
The advertisers must think we are pretty stupid to think that label is special. Anyone insisting that it is must be retarded.

Sure, chemicals are found in nature but it wouldn't be natural for you to drink a bottle of insecticide, would it?

My point is, what we humans produce in a laboratory is not considered natural, especially when it is being put in our food. We put a lot of additives in our foods that have been proven to cause cancer if eaten enough, and also things such as hormone imbalance, sterility, overall poor health. The additives are put in our foods as a substitute for "natural" ingredients in order to facilitate production and save money, enhance flavor UNnaturally, and as preservatives.

So the same lab-produced chemical that is added to help preserve the food between the time it's produced and when you buy it in the store, may also combine with other chemicals NATURALLY found in your body, and create a new chemical that has been known to cause cancer.

There is a lot of debate over which additives are harmful and which are not, and which should be allowed in small doses, and which are considered too harmful to be used at all. Additives can be both natural or artificial. That is the difference. So there is a market for foods claiming to be "100% Natural" but like you said, there is also a debate about what is considered "natural."

But to answer your question, no, you can't call anything natural just because it was made from a group of other natural chemicals in a lab.

Most processed food is not 'natural' especially flavours.
The chemicals are synthetic, made to imitate the real thing.
But you are not getting real food ingredients, only fake.
