My interpretation is that transportations expenses are only deductible when you are working.

If you were attending classes for work-related purposes, the transportation costs to class from work would be deductible. If your work-related class was on a day you did not attend work, then transportation to and from your home to the class is deductible.

But if your classes are not work-related, the transportation costs are not deductible.

If you are borrowing money to attend school, and use your student loans for transportation expense, that is a qualified expense for your student loan. When you repay back that loan, you may be able to deduct the interest on that loan.

No. Travel to and from school is not a tax deductible expense.

Personal transportation costs are never deductible. Commuting costs, for a job or eductation, are personal costs and are not deductible.

Does your country have a tax provision that student transportation costs are deductible ?
( they are not in the US , but maybe where you are !)
