If you're in the south eastern part of the US you might try the North Carolina Mountains. There are several places to chose from that have condo right on the slopes. There's Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain (my favorite!!), Hawksnest, and Appalachian. All of these areas are close to Boone North Carolina. There are also other areas of interest there too. There's Grandfather Mountain which is the worlds largest privately owned biosphere. They have some good hiking trails, and some beautiful, gorgeous views. You can try to see the famous Brown Mountain Lights or visit Mast General Store. There's also the Blowing Rock, Linville Caverns and a bunch of other places. There are also some nice places to eat that won't break the bank!!
If you want more information about the area edit your question to let me know and I'll unblock my email so I can let you know!

My husband and I went skiing for our honeymoon in Colorado and we loved it. We stayed in Avon, which is located at the base of Beavercreek and a few miles from Vail. Avon was cute and much less expensive than either of the resorts, but just as convenient to the slopes. Shuttles went back and forth between Beavercreek and Vail all day long, so we skied both and had no problem getting around.

I also was going to suggest skiutah.com. Tons of great places in Utah. But other suggestions--

Tahoe has some amazing places. Few people think of Nevada so many of the smaller slopes are less expensive.

Vermont. I love Vermont. And Jackson Hole WY.

For accommodations--I'd rent a place or stay in a bed and breakfast. Bed and Breakfasts are great. Breakfasts served. Many have private cottages out back, that way you aren't actually in the house with other people. Also rent a cottage. Whenever my husband and I go up to the mountains (Blue Ridge Parkway), we usually call some vacation rental places and rent a small secluded cabin for the week. Usually people who buy a place, rent it out a good portion of the year. Especially if you aren't getting married during a prime weekend (MLK), you'll find some good deals.

There are some great, budget resorts in Utah--you can stay at an inexpensive hotel in Salt Lake City or the Provo area (or anywhere between the 2), and have at least 1/2 dozen good ski resorts within a 20 minute drive. And, Utah really does have some of the best snow on earth!

I went to college in Utah, where I learned to ski--if I could afford it as a poor college kid--it should be a piece of cake for you guys! Congrats and good luck with your wedding!

Hi and congratulations!

Telluride, Colorado is great! And it's a cute little town.

Also, Breckenridge, Colorado. I have never been personally, but my son went on a skiing trip there and loved it!

Salt Lake City is another good choice.

I'm sure they are all pricey. But, then again, if you are a skier you probably already know that!

Good luck and congratulations!

I would go to Salt Lake City, UT or Jackson, WY. Both have great skiing and accomodations in all price points.

Ashland, Oregon- it's a seriously cute small town in southern Oregon with skiing, great Bed and Breakfast places, hotels and restaurants, nice people and loads of charm for genuinely civilized prices
