I really need some good advice.

My family are literally causing me so much pain. I explain good things to them, yet they ignore me?

I got dragged to a engagment party (the one I mentioned before on YA). I explained to my parents and sister, yet they didn't respond, I told them I feel really arkward in the situations they put me in, yet they don't care and respond you have to go like the rest of the people!!

I fear I have sinned greatly as there was many things going on, that I usualy refrain from, i.e. mixing, (Though I sat in the corner with my sisters) also Music pounding in my ears, yet I sat back and wasn't able to do or say anything, as my family ignored me each time I did....

I don't feel valued, or cared for anymore....

As-salamu alaikum,

Dear sister, I was saddened and shocked when I read this.
There is no power, nor might except with The God.

Allah knows your intention, your situation and what is in your heart.

This is a test that you are going through. Read The Qur'an. I have found that reading The Qur'an helps give me the emotional strength to deal with difficulties.

One sura that you might want to read is Al- Jinn.
Make tasbea to Allah and dua.

Get up during the last two hours of night before Fajr prayer and pray. Ask Allah for emotional strength to deal with this difficulty. Allah tells us in The Qur'an that we are capable of dealing with every test that He gives us.

I, myself, have been through a lot of tests, some were very difficult that I didn't know how I could live through them.... but I did. I read a lot of Qur'an. Did a lot of tasbea and dua. I made a lot of salat. I talked to some very good Muslim friends about things and got emotional support from them.
En sha Allah, you will get through this, too.

Please contact me, if you want to. I would like to know how you are doing.

Please take care of yourself and know that Allah knows everything and understands everything -including the difficulty that you are in.

Allah be with you.

Wa alaikum as-salam.

Your sister in Islam,
Rebecca

Well your family are very ignorant it seems but that's nothing new, plenty of people are like that.

You have not sinned, because in order to sin you need to have commited such an act yourself without being forced to.

Your family are not likely to change so don't hold much expectations there. You need to become stronger emotionally if you are ever going to learn to cope with this.

There are things that your family will continue to force you to do which you may not want. I think i told you in my last reply that there is no point in arguing with your family over this, they are not likely to change.

My best advise to you is sabar. Sabar will make you stronger in the long run. After all that is also a form of test by Allah.

Allah cares for you and he will never put you through anything which he knows you cant cope with.

Remember if Allah brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

The religious people enjoy certain distinctive features: truthfulness, custody of deposits, fulfillment of pledges, regard of the relatives, merciful treatment for the weak, lack of copulation -with their wives-, doing favors, good mannerism, broad- mindedness, and pursuance of knowledge as well as whatever brings near to Allah. They will receive abundant blessings and the best eternal dwelling.

i dont know what to tell you, but you are very strong not to spiral into corruption. Its rare to see people who are more holy than their parents so i just wanna give you a thumbs up!! i admire people like you more than a person with any other quality. stay strong and it will all pay off in the end! :)
