I read that this was the case but later came across another word that had two I's in it when in the present progressive tense, however I have forgotton what it was.

There's also "Shi-ite" which I've spelled here with a dash between the two i, so Yahoo won't bleep it out.

Not really, considering that 'skiing' isn't even an English word.

It is Scandinavian.
