I've had quit a few of these, I actually do the same, I try to stay awake as long as possible to see where the dream takes me. Sometimes I will wake up and try to go back to that same dream.

Yes - I've dreamed plays, stories, etc that I wrote later. And whole business plans down to detailed timetables and draft memos etc. And paintings and sculptures, etc. In the process I've sometimes directed the dream to explore potentials or improve the outcome - without really waking up. As a kid I had serial dreams from which I learned a very great deal. And when sailing distances I found that when I was exhausted from being on watch too long, I recovered greatly if I could actually sleep and dream even for only half an hour.

I have these dreams all the time too. I always try to stay asleep. Sometimes I will have the same dream two nights in a row. If I really like a dream I will try to have it again. Sometimes I will have the dream again, and other times it continues on from where I left off.

I have only logged one that I remember, where I awakened in the middle of a dream, and changed the story line for a more positive outcome, it was very powerful, and I woke up with a cigarette burn on my wrist where a character in the dream burned me with a cigarette, I don't know what was going on that I only remember the one dream that way, what conditions caused it.......... I'm sure I have probably had other lucid dreams, but that is the only one that I have ever brought back a clear recollection of....

I've actually had these kinds of dreams too, but I am usually not in them very long once I realize I am only dreaming. But isn't it interesting that our minds can tell us the difference while we are in a dream?! I find it fascinating.

I have had dreams like this all my life. Some I cant wake up from even when I am trying to by screaming at my husband to wake me, of course he can not hear me because I am the one in my dream and he is not. I have even waken myself at times and then will fall right back to sleep and pick up where I left off. Strange as they seem and even scary at times it is the visions that I have had....that brings one around really quickly and makes you very much aware of energy and things beyond. .....

i have had these on numerous occasions and the weird part is that they are deja vu like because some of them somehow happen and then i think that i am in a vertigo. those are interesting dreams to have because you do not know what is truth and what is not and that the dreams themselves are more and more clearer and explicit and detailed and like a story and somehow making sense versus some times when they do not.

I always have that kind of dream.I just let it pass meaning if i happen to wake up, i'll sit up on my bed and try to picture or recall the dream i had.If i remember it right which i usually do i'll just smile and say "thanks...my memory still serves me well"!
