True christians have never been the cause of oppression in the world, christianity is the worship of a man who was the living God in human form; he came to earth as a sacrifice for all the sins of the world, because without him, they were desperately doomed;even though many denied it and certainly still do, they needed him. If your faith is based on that, you will not be causing any harm by letting people know what you belive, they may reject it and call you names, but then they are causing the oppression. The bible says that we will be oppressed in his name, but we must persevere
, because heaven is coming and God made us , so he deserves our endurance for him, in a corrupt world.

What kind of "Christianity" are you talking about?
If you want to see what "real" Christianity is supposed to be like, try reading the epistles, and tell me if you think those guys are spreading an "evil doctrine of religious oppression".

There are nearly a Billion Christians in the world. Please don't tar them all with the same brush. Tell me, what is "evil" about a doctrine that says to "love your neighbour as yourself?" Religious oppression and abuse are not tenants of the Christian faith. That abuses happen is a sad commentary on the human condition - that we have a propensity for sin. There are many other faiths that do harm in the name of God. Christianity is not the only one. So why do you single out Christians for scrutiny?

The Da Vinci Code is a good illustration of what I mean.
The interpretation put forward by Dan Browne is as preposterous as the canonical version, and fits the "facts" just as closely. Christians get to trash it on the basis that everyone knows that their accepted version is the real one, because it's been the accepted version for centuries.
Excuse me? That's a bit of a left turn at the lights there. Is it me or is there a big fat hole in the sylogistic chain there?
If you shout loud enough for long enough that everyone else is a liar and the spawn of Satan, people fade you out, but accept your premise.
So learn to think critically, and challenge the premise.

Because it is a basic human right to be allowed to believe what you wish. There are as many good Christians as there ignorant athiests (i.e a lot). Religous profiling is every bit as evil as religous fundamentalism.Grow up.

And people talk about Muslims as bad people. Nowhere in ANY RELIGION does it say that FORCE THAT OTHER GUY INTO SUBMISSION!
