It is a lie to claim that myth is truth. The affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth is a fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth. Conservative ideological authorities perpetrate this fraud inorder to be able; to make threats against the life and or afterlife of anybody who does not submit to their authority; and to extort from communities of faithful believers tithes and offerings in exchange for a lifelong indoctrination in a standard of conduct that these same ideological authorities proclaim to be the discovery of the truth about the will of a good one in Heaven at war with and evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. Extortion based on threats made against the life and or afterlife of others and or a fraudulent affirmation of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth should be considered a crime against humanity because in committing acts of extortion based on fraud that follows from the lie that myth is truth these ideological authorities lead communities of faithful believers to have a low esteem of self and world that is not conducive to happiness and good health.

As a secondary source of income, some of these same ideological authorities who act as intermediaries might be expected to be willing to sell their influence over communities of faithful believers to a mercenary plutocratic predatory few. Satisfying a need and aspiration of a mercenary plutocratic predatory few to achieve and maintain authority, power, order and control over the state might then be a matter of buying influence from ideological authorities leading communities of faithful believers. The result of such influence peddling being that those ideological authorities who are most useful in satisfying the need and aspiration of a mercenary plutocratic predatory few to acheive and maintain authority, power, order and control over the state are given funding and those who are not receive little or no patronage. Once authority, power, order and control over the state are attained, the mercenary plutocratic predatory few may then seek to expand their authority, power, order, and control to bring the entire global culture under their rule by patronizing those ideological authorities who best motivate communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number competition in the global culture.

As communities of faithful believers race to out work, out fight and out number competition in the global culture, they are confronted by the limited dimensions of the planet Earth. We live in a body consuming biosphere on a crusted magma globe of limited dimensions. There is a limit to the supply of energy and space made available to communities of faithful believers by the planet Earth and thus there would appear to be a limit to the exponential growth of these communities of faithful believers; and a limit to the time that the race to out work, out fight, and out number competition could be run. Yet these are the aggressive ideologies of racist, heterofacist, warmongers. The world today appears headed today towards ever more profound disasters, calamities, desolations and conflicts as some authoritarian, powerful, orderly, controlling states drive their own people to out work, out fight and out number the rest of the global culture in a race to win the game of survival and sacrifice as it pertains to states and nations of people. As such, the need and aspiration of some states to maintain and achieve authority, power, order, and control over communities of faithful believers and the global culture as a whole supersedes the need and aspiration of the individual to be happy and healthy.

i am an atheist but i do study many religions- helps when i debate religion!! i dont believe that any where in the bible it says that you will go to hell simply by learning about other religions, why dont you do a bit of reaearch about other peoples beliefs and you might find that some alternate views fit your personal outlook better- alternately it may just renew your faith in your own religion- or of course you may end up questioning all religion but at least you may find a sense of direction. keep an open mind and good luck with your search my thoughts are with you. oh yes if you ever have the chance to meet sikhs, buddists or hindus take it they are lovely people

The sad truth is, there is no god, and no afterlife (probably). You're on your own, with only your fellow humans to help out.

A study of the various religions of the world helps, as does a study of the history of Christianity and the origins of the Bible. There's a lot of misinformation out there, so you've got to sort through it.

If you can find a church, where you can find somewhat of a comfort level try it out. One does not have to agree with all the beliefs, to take advantage of the spiritual energy present. People forget that eveything in the\is world is not perfect, but still things work. If you can prayer/meditate, to see what connection you can make with God, do so. A lot of people, have made it though hard times, helped by their belief in God. So, God can be of help to lots of people. Find an image of God , that you can be proud of. I think of God as a just, and moral God, concerned that people are good, and contribute positively to the world.

My heart goes out to you; your culture, your society, and your religion have "conditioned" and formed you and created confusion and chaos in your mind and heart. Take a deep breath, and start over again--just you without other's influence. Let your heart guide you to the great books and masters of the ages, from every discipline. You are going through the "dark night of the soul" that many intelligent seekers have experienced before they find peace. It is not that there are binding answers, but the questions that well up in your heart will lead you on a search that will eventually bring comfort to you. First, what is "confused" is the ego that sees you as separate from All That Is--God is not "out there" and you in a different location. Everything is One, from the One, of the One, returned to the One when the self-serving ego is dropped. This is done through observing the ego-self and the crazy-making thoughts that drive the ego. When you begin to observe, in the moment, your thoughts and how they come and go, twist and turn, and lead you on a merry chase, you will begin to realize that they are not real, not real because they are impermanent. In fact, it is your changing, unreal thoughts and your attachment to their outcome that cause all suffering. Because we live in a world of duality (meaning, for everything there exists its opposite, its polarity--and this swings us from one extreme to the other--love to hate, good to bad, high to low, greedy to generous, etc., and back again in the other direction) we will never be able to experience "satisfaction." I recommend meditating (join a class, a group, or get a book) to help you calm your "monkey mind"--with dedicated practice this will bring you to a stillpoint and you will begin to experience your true nature, your divine nature. When "silence" (of the mind) is achieved, you will "know" from YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE who and what you are--a divine being, joined in consciousness with Source or Creator. You are perfection, a perfect expression of the One. Blessed be as you journey to the One. I am Sirius

Dont steal, Dont cheat, Dont murder. The basics and dont be a complete bastard and i am sure that god is an omni present being who isnt going to punish you for wacking off a couple times. I am sure no one religion has it pinned down and he understands thing a whole lot better then we could ever imagine.

We were created for worship but also... when we worship we minister to Gods heart. Its a 2 way street. We were created for companionship also. We are created for friendship. And it doesnt have to feel like slavery. Just pray pray pray. And i cant stress it enough that we weren't created to fill someones ego.

Im sorry everyone- here is a long post.

Here's something that will surprise some people...

We are truly only free in obedience to Christ…not in following our own self-centered desires and passions. The freedom our world tells us to seek is not true, it is a false freedom…it is not freedom by any means. Instead it is chains.

When we don’t follow God FIRST, when we submit ourselves to all BUT Christ, we burden ourselves.

WAIT!! – That’s crap…how can one be free in being, what Saint Paul says, “a slave to Christ?”
Let me explain…

God knows the limitations of our human knowledge and capacity. That is why he uses physical realities to convey spiritual things. We see a beautiful sunset and the vast star-filled sky and are drawn to His majesty and might. A person who wholly loves us is God’s way of showing His love to us. We see God uses the tangible to convey the intangible, natural to convey the supernatural. He knows this will help us in our faith.

Just so, God uses the natural laws of this world to teach us about the moral laws proposed by Himself – the supernatural!

Think of the law of gravity or the dietary guidelines which are both scientifically proven. If we decide to ignore the law of gravity and walk off a cliff or bridge….we’re going to either severely hurt ourselves or possibly even die. If we eat unhealthily, our body responds by becoming sick, contracting a disease (high blood pressure, clogged arteries) or gaining weight. When we don’t obey these laws – either by rejecting them or ignoring them, we hurt ourselves! OUCH! In all these natural laws – there is no such a thing as freedom from these laws, only freedom WITHIN them. See that point?

The same goes for the laws of morality which God also gave us. If we disobey or ignore them (even in ignorance) – especially knowing that God has commanded us to obey them – then there is sin, the worst damage of all…damage to our soul, to our eternal salvation.

Take also, for example, the maker of a car. He builds the car to run with water in the radiator, with gas in the tank, with a proper order of gears; that is the only way it will function. God makes our bodies with lungs that need air, a heart that keeps our blood circulating and a need for certain nutrients, etc… God builds His law into our bodies. In obedience to them, the body is in health.

If we disobey the laws for the running of a car, the engine makes strange noises and at last comes to a stop. If we disobey the laws of the body, we have pain and ultimately death. The stirring of conscience in the soul is like the strange noises in the engine and pain in the body; it is a protest against misuse. It is the soul’s way of indicating that the laws according to which its Maker built it are being ignored, that it is not being run as its Maker built it to be run.

When we don’t put God’s law FIRST, when we don’t follow it to the fullest, we are not free, we are in chains…slaves to the lies of the devil. (Yes there is a devil...his name is Satan and he's out to get us) We become full of anxiety, worry, stress, sadness, jealousy, and anger…even over the smallest things. We are chained down and controlled by these vices (vice is the opposite of virtue) and controlled by the negative emotions they give us. If we submit to these feelings and do not handle them properly through prayer, it leads us into sin and sin damages the grace in our soul or can all out destroy it! (Definitely not good)

C’mon! Think of something you are worrying about or once worried about…does it not own every aspect of your life??? It constantly is on your mind and affects so much of what you do in a negative way and it most unfortunately distracts our thoughts and attention from God. Or think of someone you are angry at or jealous of…do those feelings not control you and a lot of what you do?? Yes they do! See…we become slaves to these negatives things and are chained down and burdened by them. We become insecure (even though we think we’re confident)…

We can tell where our security comes from by what we turn to… Do we constantly seek the approval of others or attention from others? Do we need a boy/girl to be always telling us how beautiful we are? Do we need to be always doing something…going out, partying, drinking? …or do we pray, running first and always to Christ for our security?
Big news - God doesn't want us to live in anxiety, worry, anger, jealousy, stress, loneliness or sadness.
In full obedience to Christ, these negative things don’t rule our hearts – we are free of them! In obedience to God’s laws, we develop what Saint Paul calls the fruits of the Holy Spirit which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
So be free!!!
Call me crazy, but I'd much rather live in peace and joy than anger and anxiety...
