I've used Limewire for a while and it's really good, fairly quick downloads. Though after using uTorrent for the second time recently, both the downloads on uTorrent and Limewire are really slow.
I have 8mb broadband and on average, my downloads on Limewire are done within 1-2 minutes - however they're now running at 1kb and then finally dropping to 0kb and they just tend to freeze or progress really slowly even with 5 or 6 hosts.
I've done a few virus and spyware scans and didn't get many results, deleted a few of the spyware and tried again on Limewire and yet - nothing. I had 6 hosts and the download just didn't want to shift. I've obviously tried many other files before posting, and I'm still getting the same problem. Just to let you know, I've switched off the computer, turned off the modem and started again, already..
Please help guys. Don't bother telling me to switch Limewire because I'm not, I don't need to - there's just something wrong which needs to be fixed.

Limewire is good to download lot of things, but is good as well to download virus and spyware, so check if your computer was infected.

All i can say is limewire absolutely sucks the life out of my computer- and i use it a lot. Why i dont know but i do get some tunes ive wanted for years but cant get ,so i put up with it.

sometimes its because a lot of people are on line Sat and Sunday are the worst and generally things run slower, however the more you have in your library for people to draw from and the more you are trying to download causes the program to slow down ,perhaps you should alter your settings in options
Almost forgot you must leave some downloads in your library or a lot of hosts will not let you share you are then classed as a free loader

It probably gave you viruses after each song that you downloaded and virus and spyware scans don't show them. Thats what happened to me Limewire gave me 60 viruses (NO LIE!) in 5 days!!!

Are you seeding?
Uploads can significantly impact your download speed.
(Bittorrent programs have a nasty habit of running in the background when you close them, make sure that's not happening.)
Your download speed doesn't mean squat if you are downloading something from someone who doesn't share your feisty connection speed, either.

Some isps (including bt) throttle your connection when using P2P software ... change isps , im away to do the same as im having the same problem ..

use ares http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/ becuse limwire is add suported and java base witch make sit a flakie programe to begin with and you have to download the fiel you want with the most stars

yeah your right theres somthing wrong like the way you download music and films for nothing and then piss and moan when you've shagged your own computer. you tool.
