This is simply one example - a very good one - of the inconsistencies and contradictions contained in the ancient texts of all religions.

The numerous writers of the koran, bible etc. were ancient men whose writing skills matched the times they lived in. With no single author being responsible for the texts, they were never going to fashion a tightly-structured masterpiece. Thus the contradictions and confusion.

As ancient texts they have, perhaps, much to teach us about those ancient times. As moral guides for 21st century life, they are less useful.

The problems begin when men (and it usually IS men rather than women) interpret single passages from these books as 'law'. (and then go on to impose that on others.)

Good Q.
The people who do this may be Muslims but they aren't good ones. They think they are, but they are like the Christians who carried out the Inquisition. Both corrupt the teachings of their founders. In the US today we have Christians who try to use the government to use the law to force their believes on others. The force behind these laws is that a policeman, an armed man with the authority to use violence, will come after you if you don't obey.
Preferable to having your head summarily cut off but still wrong as well as un-American.

They are frightened of being taken over by the cat community. It is of great importance to them foreign sorts that they maintain a greater population of dark skinned humans than cats. This is the same reason they don't wash. Cats are very fussy about their food and so a smelly dark skinned person from middle eastern countries smells very much like rotten food to them and they keep away. It's a little known but very clever tactic isn't it.

This world rests upon four supports: a scholar who applies his knowledge (to himself), a rich man who does favors generously, an ignorant who is not too arrogant to learn, and a poor man who does not vent his life to come with others' worldly pleasures. Woe are the scholars who suspend acting upon their Knowledge, the rich men who withhold giving, the ignorant who feel arrogant against learning, and the poor men who vend their lives to come with others' worldly pleasures.

that;s the problem, those ppl who do that are victim of misinterpretetation of islam. dying and killing for islam is a good thing, but it has to be done under circumstances like wars or self-defense. but the way the terrorists are doing by killing straightly innocent ppl, doing suicide bomb attacks, these are in NO WAY teachings of islam. those ppl are either victim of misinterpretation or they like the way they do it. BUT remember ISLAM never teaches something that is against humanity.

You (and many others) are mistaking religion with those who are religious. A religion may decree a certain action or manner of thought but that doesn't mean those who follow it obey every aspect of it.
