my operating system went out and my friend was ganna copy me his disk but he only had time to upload the files to my computer. i burned them as a data disk but it wouldnt boot...help is greatly appreciated

You cant, its really simple, you are missing the boot record part of the CD, these are normally done when the whole CD are done in ISO format, he can also extract the boot part WBT and then sent those to you, but then you will need to reconstruct them yourself.

Use nero 7 ultra. I have it and the key. You can have an option of burning a bootabble disk. Good Luck. www.nero.com

it more work then its worth just have him recopy it with nero or some thing and make and iso so that you have 1 file and it has the boot files there al ready
