Id say mabe a big/spider bite. Have a friend look at it to see if there are two little wholes, to see if it's a spider bite. Just moniter it for the next 12 hours. If it's something really bad it should get worse within that time frame. If it gets worse make a dr appt fist thing tomm. and if you get severe fever or anything like that go to the hospital Good Luck!

Best get it checked. Its probably nothing to worry about. though. Could just be an infected spot.
The following are symptoms of Skin Cancer which you dont have :
A skin abnormality that increases in size and appears multicolored, pink, red, black, brown, tan, pearly, translucent, or tan.
A mole that changes color, textures, grows, becomes irregular in shape, or that is bigger than a pencil eraser.
A spot or growth that continually itches, hurts, becomes crusty, scabs, or bleeds.
An open sore that does not heal after 4 weeks or one that heals and reopens.
Anyway best not meet trouble half way.
Good Luck :)

It could be a spider bite or an ingrown hair(you may have to squeeze it to release the hair). If it doesn't go away in a week or so get it checked out just to be on the safe side

You should see your Doctor asap. That sounds like staph infection. Another lady I know had a red bump appear on her leg a month ago and she is in hospital right now with Staph infection- I don't want to scare you and God be with you during this and I hope and pray it isn't anything serious:)

Have it checked out and cut off immediately. I've had two incidents of melanoma and believe - the sooner the better.
Give yourself some peace of mind.

It is likely to be a benign lesion, but I do suggest that you get your GP to check it if you are concerned. i am disappointed to see so many callous and cruel answers to one question, those who did answer in this way should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

You've only 18.5 hours to live think about it. NOT!!! It could be just a bruising from some bump that you didn't notice.
