Obviously we have a certain amount of people we need to keep our country running. No doubt about it they're NEEDED. But at the same time an over influx of people also keeps wages depressed. We have a huge influx of illegal labor. This does depress our wages. How tho can we deport all these people and still keep the U S running smoothly? That's alot of jobs we're talking about. I still see "Help Wanted" signs up all over the place so obviously there are still jobs needing to be filled. Please think about this. It isn't a Pro or Anti argument really. It's about halting production. Which affects BOTH sides of the debate. Something needs to be done yes I'll agree with that. The illegal situation can't continue for many reasons. But what about NOW and what it will do to our economy?

To the troll that has caused some problems between BOTH sides in this debate....Pretend some more to be that man you wish to be and come clean with the Pro's that you've lied about Anti's ganging up on them.

That's what I said JuJu. This troll told Pro's that the Anti's were ganging up to violate them. I called BULL on that sneaky lying...UGH...I can't say what I want to call that thing!

I know the troll is an ANTI Chee but she/he/it also plays a Pro on here. The Anti's kicked this person OFF the forum because of the trolling it was doing. So this troll is playing you guys too. Just trying to create a stir because it's nuts.

Why can't we deport them and replace them immediately with that huge waiting list of hopeful legal immigrants? I'm actually asking...I don't know what the possibilities are of that or what issues would have to be quickly worked through. Illegal isn't needed or desired. Our economy would suffer during the transition but the long term resolution and benefits are worth it..to me, anyway.

As to the troll thing...that is so very doubtful. The lies have been about the anti's ganging up on the pros's too...it's so twisted and ridiculous. Trying to even delve into the psyche of that one gave me a huge headache.

Dog Tricks...I've gotten so many e-mails that have named every one of us in the forum for one reason or another. I am not sure what Chee is referring to about the list to report though, I wasn't made part of that but I was told that I was one of the one's "they" were going to get rid of. The joys of being an anti, I guess. What I haven't figured out yet is the true reason the forum was targeted in the manner it was. That one still bugs me....

There are 12-20 million illegal immigrants in the US. We've got 300 million US citizens and a 4.7% unemployment rate which makes a little over 14 million people be unemployed. If we deport all illegal immigrants(we will take the median and say there are 16 million illegal immigrants) we wouldn't have enough people to fill the jobs.

You might be thinking,"well, all illegal immigrants don't work." Well, I've never seen many estimates to show how many illegals actually work, but I recently read an article concerning Tommy Tancredo, where he said that he believed roughly 90% of illegal immigrants worked because "they are are here because of economic opportunities. They are performing jobs in a $5 to $20 per hour range which otherwise would be paid $15 to $40 per hour." Now, if we go with Tancredo's 90%, that would mean that a little over 14 million out of the 16 million median actually worked.

If we have 14 million unemployed, they would have to fill the 14 million jobs that went away and they would also have to be paid more. The unemployment rate would actually reach roughly 0% and inflation would ensue because of increased wages.

I've heard that the cost of produce would rise no more than about 10% at the retail level even if labor costs increased by (I believe it was) 400%. How? Because a grocery store marks it up about 10 times over what it pays, wholesale. So a head of lettuce that we buy for a dollar only cost the grocer a dime. That dime includes the cost of ALL labor, ALL cleaning, ALL shipping, fertilizing, bagging, pallet-packing, etc. I'm assuming the labor might be a penny or less per head.

Likewise with all the oranges, apples, kumquats, berries, grapes, etc. The mark-up is huge and that's what we really pay for.

Further, some of our greatest potential for excellent, high-paying jobs exist in a little-known segment of the technology/engineering sector that produces farm automation for delicate, hard-to-pick veggies and fruits like those mentioned.

Other countries are already spending more on machinery like this. Why? BECAUSE THEY DON'T PERMIT SUCH ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION to keep labor artificially cheap.

I would have to say most of the help wanted signs are at businesses that require proof of legality. There were illegals working at the factory I work. There was a raid and 68 were deported. The jobs were filled with no down time or loss of production. These workers were coming thru a temp agency that didnt check papers. They found that out of the 68 people there was only 5 SS# being used.

i have to disagree you are not correct we don't need them it was proved when all the illegal aliens decided to not work and traffic was excellent i loved it and work went on as usual
no harm was done and all they did was prove they are not a necessity.
and an immigrant is a law abiding person that is seeking citizenship to a new nation on the other hand someone that illegally crosses a boarder and enters another nation without proper documentation is an illegal alien as defined by law.
and is a felon that has committed a crime.
the rhetoric you spin about anti ganging up on people is from fear that you see you are loosing the fight and are choosing to shout foul and discrimination!
and frankly my dear it is soo old and tiring
don't you feel it is time to accept that the American people have been used too much and are speaking out demanding elected officials to enforce current existing laws and deport any discovered illegal alien

What might you anticipate from the Mayor of l. a., he's Mexican (gee i contemplate whether he's right here legally). The AZ regulation has already surpassed a pair of judicial comments, nevertheless those are basically comments they have reported that the regulation falls interior the guidelines of the form. the actual try would be while/if it is going to court docket. In 2004, Arizona surpassed a regulation(Prop 2 hundred) that required one to instruct citizenship in the previous you should sign up to vote or in the previous receiving public assistance. This regulation additionally required the individuals working in those factors to instruct in any and all suspected illegals. If an valid became chanced directly to have violating this regulation a citizen ought to sue them for damages. In 2007 Arizona surpassed HB 2779 and the governor reported right here “Immigration is a federal duty, yet I signed HB 2779 through fact that's now abundantly sparkling that Congress unearths itself incapable of managing the excellent immigration reforms our united states desires. I signed it, too, out of the theory that the flow of unlawful immigration into our state is using the consistent call for of a few employers for low-value, undocumented hard artwork.” lots of what's in SB 1070 comes from parts of the above invoice, especially the words with regard to the hiring of illegals. Whose pastime is it to enforce our Immigration rules ? The duty of that falls decrease than the authority of place of beginning place risk-free practices and Janet Napolitano is yet another of those that say that the Arizona regulation is unconstitutional yet like Holder has no longer examine the invoice. Does it come to a ask your self to the liberals that AZ proposition 2 hundred and HB 2779 have been signed in to regulation by potential of the Governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano ? i assume that the constitutionality of a regulation relies upon on which occasion you belong to. so a ways Janet Napolitano has controlled to instruct that she is extremely able to talking out the two factors of her mouth.

FAIR estimates there are between 10-12 million illegal aliens residing in the country in 2005. According to the Census Bureau, there were an estimated 8.7 million illegal aliens living in the United States in 2000. According to the Migration Policy Institute, roughly 500,000 illegal aliens are added to that population every year. The immigration authorities also estimate that there are over one million temporary illegal aliens, such as seasonal workers, here at any given time. The population of illegal aliens would be higher, but in 1986 our government gave amnesty to nearly three million illegal aliens, allowing them to become legal members of our society, and we have allowed additional millions to gain amnesty through other loopholes.

I'm not sure I agree that immigrants are needed to keep the country running. Illegals have pretty much vanished in my area and life goes on.

If there is problems, there is an ample supply ready and willing to come in. We want legal ones only.

We don't need any illegal immigrants to keep the United States running smoothly. I don't think poor, un-skilled, non-English speaking illegal immigrants are really needed to help keep the biggest economy in the world running properly. We can get poor Americans that are on welfare to do the jobs that illegal immigrants are currently doing.

I don't agree with your assertion that illegal immigrants keep wages depressed. If anything, illegal immigrants help keep jobs in the country, because if the wages went higher then companies would outsource the jobs to countries with lower wages. This would hurt our trade deficit. I would rather eat food picked by illegal immigrants in the US than imported from China.
