I think God is made up and I think Jesus was a liar, possibly a Criss Angel type of illusionist.

There's a good book you should read "The Case for Christ", they also have a junior novel. Anyway, the author was an atheist who looked into the possibilities of Jesus being God's son and our savior. After doing extensive research he discovered that Jesus is Lord. Jesus couldn't be an illusionist because experts say that the chances of an illusionist making several thousand people (when Jesus fed all those people on the mountain) have the same illusion and the same time in the same place is impossible.

I understand the feeling. I don't know Chris Angel, but I imagine with that name, he has tried to imitate the stories in the Bible about what Jesus did. It is quite possible that Jesus was simply a fictional character, perhaps a myth of the "ideal Messiah" created by Jews who needed something to sustain them during the Roman occupation of Israel.

I agree that basically, the Bible is a book of myth and false history; bluntly, a work of fiction. But don't buy the argument that you cannot have good moral judgment and good ethics without religion. It's just not true.

Also, there are religions which do not rely on a major Deity. Some have many different ones, some have nothing to say about deities. For example, I am a member of the Ethical Society of St. Louis (they are all over the country, but mostly in rather large cities). We have a motto of "deed before creed," but realistically we treat that as more like deed instead of creed. We learn from one another, study ethical questions of significance to the community, the nation and the world, and I expect most people would simply call us humanists.

I'll give you some links below that might help you in your quest for truth. Remember, there is no Truth in the sense of one way for everyone. There is what works for you.

A time of questioning is part of what can help your faith grow. It is also time for you to question what has made you come to the conclusion that God is made up and Jesus is a liar. Research has led us to see that Jesus has to be only one of three possibilities, liar, lunatic or Lord, as He claimed. However, His statement have corroboration and His behavior and actions speak to being Lord far more than to being a lunatic.

Good for you! You will become very mature and wise throughout your life. Early Christians were called "seekers" of truth. Both Paul and Buddha encouraged people to seek out their beliefs with fear and trembling. After Constantine and the Council of Nicaea, everybody had to subscribe to the Nicene Creed and were called "believers." This was the beginning of Christian intolerance as everyone had to believe in exactly the same thing or they were tortured and/or killed. After the Bible was translated into the language of the people, people could read and make up their own minds. This was the cause of the splintering into many denominations.

Like was said before here follow your own path in life and look into different spirituality's or "religions". It took a long time for me to embrace Christianity. I was a spiritualist, witch, metaphysical. The only thing I can say is pray well every day for guidance and blessings and knowledge. As you follow your path, you will learn a lot about religions and finally find your nitch at some point in your life.

There's nothing wrong with questioning your faith. Read and learn all that you can. Don't be afraid of reason and your own mind.

There is a lot that Jesus said that is very worthwhile. He was not necessarily a liar. He could have been misquoted and made into something he was not by his contemporaries.

I think that you need to your own research on all different kinds of religion and find out what best suits you. Which one strongly catches your attention and makes you think "this is right, I believe what this is saying." Don't go by what other people say go with what your heart wants. I'm going to list a few different religions that you should look into and maybe it'll help you with this decision. Pentacostel, United, Catholic, anglician, jehovah, protestant, budist, wiccian, pegan, and theres soo many more.

Good for you for questioning! Now dig deep and do a lot of research...historical, biblical, archeological, scientific (particularly physics...that'll make a believer outta anyone..including physicists).

I well understand your feelings of frustration and confusion, anger and betrayal.

Combine that with meditation. Meditation is the key to real communion with God and with ultimate Knowledge of real truth.

Don't blame God for how people represented him/her/it in written documents, in oral teachings, and especially in their un spiritual attitudes and actions.

Hope this helps..write me if you want to talk about this some more.

And what exactly makes you conclude this? God is real and Jesus was no liar, there isn't an illusionist alive or dead that can do what Jesus can and did do.
