my puppy 's breathing just kind of slows down and then get's faster again. he acts perfectly normal and active except for that.

by fast i mean like twice as fast as a clock ticks

Yes, it is normal. He is probably dreaming. Dogs dream quite often, and will even "run" in their sleep, or yip and sometimes growl.

personally, I think that's a little abnormal. Usually when any mammals rest, their breathing slows down. Does he always breath fast? Or is it just at some parts? If it's only occasionally, it might be a dream, but if it's all the time, I suggest getting him to a vet to see what's the matter

how fast is fast? like more then normal? need more clues. when it breathes fast when it sleeps it could be dreaming! otherwise you need to provide more details buddy!
