Big Time "not true"

SIDEBAR: During the Vietnam War a green beret Sgt call CSM Dunaway at Washington DC complaining he was guaranteed a year before he had to return to the combat zone....it had only been back six months and was scheduled to go back in 90 days for a fourth tour !!!! Dunaway told the young boy not to worry he would take care of it.....next thing the Sgt knew....he did NOT have 90 days.....he only had 30.....you get no freebies.....the needs of the service come FIRST

Let me guess. . . sounds like you were talking to an Army recruiter! I am getting ready to deploy for my second time and the unit I am going with is returning for its third tour. If you are thinking of joining. Don't let me sway you. . . if anything, joining the military was one of the best things I have ever done with my life. I think that mainly has to do with because it was the hardest and continues to be so. I will admit though. . . it really would be nice to only go a certain number of times.

Nope. If you're in, you're in.

The Air Force has a regulation that covers former POWs from being sent back to the area from which they escaped...but that's for practical reasons. If they escaped once, recapture could jeopardize anyone in-country who assistted them.

In a word, "NO!" In several words, "No, it's not true."
