Virgin Mobile also worth considering if you use the phone infrequently to moderately. Good equipment at a cheap price, lots of ways to buy air time.

I am not for sure if it is available in your area, but i use criket, its great, no contracts, no credit check, and best yet, i pay 54.00 per month for unlimited talk time and unlimited texts, the only problem is it is very expensive to take it out of your city/area. And the phones are not very high quality, so you pay alot, and must be really careful, and also expect to have to buy a new one every 6-12 months...

Yes, you can but a prepaid cell phone. AT&T has a great pre-paid plan which is very much like a regular plan. I would check them out, because most prepaid plans are pretty expensive. Prices vary.
But, the benefits are:
No commitments. No annual contract. No credit check.
Check 'em out at the link below.

Pretty sure they do a credit check. But one inquiry won't hurt your score that much.
There are many different plans and prices. It really depends on how you plan on using your cell phone. Call around to the cell phone companies in your area and ask what is available.
