Don't Shop -- Adopt!! Kittens from rescue shelters are often more healthy and loveable than those found in pet stores. These kittens have been fully vet checked and either spayed or neutered for the same cost as you will buy a kitten from a pet store. These kittens have been handled and loved on by the resuce shelter workers so they are already quite friendly and good with people as well as other animals. Kittens and all animals from pet stores often come from puppy and kitten mills and if you ever saw the conditions that these animals lived in at these mills you would be ashamed of yourself for even thinking of shopping at a pet store.

I suggest not to buy a kitten from a large cattery. Majority of the time adults and kittens do receive enough attention. Plus kittens have more of a tendency having infection leaving the breeder. I was one of those breeders. I was always breeding to keep a kitten to win the show ring. I was always testing to better the breed. But yet my cats did not receive the attention that they should of deserved. It is something I will never forget or forgive myself.

Do NOT buy any animal from a store. They many times are unhealthy and came from someone running a pet mill.
Look in the news paper in the classified ads there should be a section for pets. You'll find a breeder that way. You might even get lucky and find some for free. Also check with vet offices. Lots of time people place ads there for pets.

The best pets are rescued pets and they have kittens for free at animal shelters. Every pet people buy is another pet the pound puts down to death...

please do not buy from a pet store, they are not the actual breeder of any kitten you will buy and probably will not know a lot about the breed. your best bet is to go onto www.kittenlist.co.uk and do a search on there for whatever breed you would like they have breeders listed on there from england to america so im sure you will find one, all breeders on there are also registered with some kind of cat fancy. good luck on finding the perfect kitten he/she will give you a lot of love.

Go to the animal shelter. They have many different beautiful cats and kittens. I have a great cat I got from there!! And just think, if you get one from there, you are saving a cat's life!!

What's wrong with rescued kittens from a shelter? What do you mean a "new" kitten?

Go to a reputable pet store. If they don't have kittens, they can probably put you in touch with a reputable breeder.
