I'd rather have my eyes opened to the truth.
Ignorance is blind, too. And deaf. Unfortunately, not dumb.

Truth is simply information that is accurate.
Religion gives us none of this...
There are simple truths in this world, but they are not yet recognised by the majority vocally - yet they are voiced by the silent majority, when you ask them in the street - if they feel up to replying?
Religion lies to us, because that is how they get their 'power'. They take away the personal power of the people - and act as the intermediary between a non-existent God and mankind. Oh, only the priests know what God wants and says, etc etc. It is the case of observing what religion does, and don't rely upon what they 'say'.
They use brainwashing techniques (constant repetition of dogma and rhetoric) and the use of the human imagination - to make people believe in their myths. Oh, it says so in the Bible, then it must be true, isn't it? And let me quote the exact passage for you. You know that the Bible is the Word of God, and that the Bible doesn't lie. etc etc etc.
We are all subject to the real laws in this world. Like gravity for instance, all the faith in the world does not change gravity. And so be aware of that which is 'false' - do not rely upon false teachings and false leadership.
How do you know true from false? Well, common sense is always a good indicator - combined with serious research, and 'thinking' (reason and logic). Also your own feelings and mind will tell you things too (your own inner sense of knowing).

"blind" faith is not Biblical faith. For example Jesus said, "The miracles I do in my Father’s name speak for me" and "believe on the evidence of the miracles"
Biblical faith is based upon physical evidences that God has spoken.
Now some people ask, "How can I know God has spoken?"
Just read His word and I'm not jokin.
Raising the dead and healing the blind.
Oh, there's lots of proofs, you'll find.
In the presence of thousands, both friend and foe.
things not done in secret, don't you know.
For when God speaks His word, He understands
we need proof it's His and not man's.

yes pure faith is blind. Faith is the absence of reason. have you ever seen your god? or jesus? no. is there any proof? no if there is no proof for an invisible man in the sky with ten laws he does not want you to break then he does not exist. ever notice if you break his laws he sends you to be tormented forever in a fiery pit but he still loves you? and he always needs MONEY!!! you would think an all powerful god would be able to handle money but apparently that's too complicated for him.

Faith isn't blind.....who told you that?
Faith can be 'childlike' in its acceptance....of course, some folks will say "yeah, because the intelligence level of fundies is about the same as a 2 year old".....blah, blah.
I'd much rather have faith in something than believe I came from nothing and will end up as nothing.

there is no truth, truth is very relative. If you don't believe me, see how many of your truths will remain truths in 100 years to come.
Remember, slavery and sexism used to be truths. Now, not at all

Just because you really, really, purely believe it, does it make it true?
