There are NO "control mechanisms" in True Christianity. If there are anything that resembles this, then it must be the "burning in hell forever" doctrine that scares people into church. However, this doctrine is based on false concepts and perpetuated through tradition.

well i know one if im understanding what you are getting at. they say you have to go to church and look down their noses at you if you dont. i say you can sit in a garage all you want, it doesnt make you a car and besides Jesus prayed outside to God more than not.
sex, thats another one. what is wrong with sex???!!!!!!!!!
so fear and guilt---it says in the bible that fear comes from the devil. guilt is a trick my mom has used since she was born. what they all dont realize is that these mechanisms become a cage not allowing us to grow spiritually and become closer to God willingly.

Faith and religious authorities
It's a recipe for disaster. One guy interprets the bible for you, makes some sweeping social statements, and the congregation generally refuses to question because god is on "faith," and who wants to question god?
