well, if you get it inspected and your insurance is ok with the state of the vehicle, then, yes, you would be covered. most insurance companies will cover comp on any car if they get an inspection of it first.

You need to ask your insurers, not the yahoo community. You need to tell them what you are doing at each stage. If you don't do it right and have a bump on the way home with the new car they will be entitled to restrict the cover to Road Traffic Act levels only, and leave you with a big bill.

Depends on the policy but most treat it as follows:
If you own a vehicle with comprehensive coverage it transfers over the the new vehicle for 30 days.
As I mentioned, policies differ so you should either read your policy or call your agent.
Just to avoid confusion... you have an automobile policy... comprehensive is a coverage under that policy (comprehensive is not a "policy" in itself).

Safest bvthing to do is to contact ur insurers and tell them ur intentions and if they will cover you for any vehicle u purchase for 24 hours, and u will contact them within that 24 hours to give them details of ur purchased vehicle.
