Yes. I am a direct descendant of Charlemagne...assorted kings, queens, knights, bishops and so forth.
My Mom was in the Who's Who for her state; an uncle was in the Who's Who; my grandfather rode with Red Cloud. Nothing closer than that.
But, hey, you must be related to SOMEONE famous; it is just a matter of how far back.
I mean, considering the powers of 2, by the time you go back 35 generations, it would take more people than are alive today. Meaning that, while people say, "Yeah, everyone is descended from Adam and Eve, so everyone is related", doing the math, essentially everyone is related by going back less than 35 generations!
That would mean, basically, the Medieval Era.

J. Ernest Wilkins who worked on nuclear energy. He worked with other scientists at the Enrico Fermi lab affiliated with the University of Chicago. He was 18 when he graduated from the University of Chicago with a Ph.D in one of the sciences. He made strides in many areas.

I did one of those ancestry things back awhile ago and it says I am related to Jessie James..dont know if he is famous though???
