It's hard for me to tell you this, but its most likely that you are going to split up, and that's the way its going to be. Most high school sweet hearts break up, or try to struggle through and end up splitting up in a bitter end or getting married, then divorced. I understand your being in love with him, and if you two are meant to be, you will run into each other later in life. I believe that everything happens for a reason, so if you break up, your separation would be for the best. Otherwise, you'll go off, find yourself, and then run into him and know for a fact, not just through speculation, that he's the one for you. It's no fun, I won't say that it is. But these are the things we have to deal with. I wish you the best of luck. (And nice for applying to Stanford!)

It means they require a high school diploma or the certificate you get by testing .
( usually required by the apprenticeship programs for the trades , the Air Force & Navy etc )

Typically they are looking for people who have finished high school or have their GED.
