It seems that one of our regulars has stopped smoking within the last month:

Will you join me in sending a huge CONGRATS!! to Ol' Doc? That's a very difficult thing to do.
Also: will you tell me your secret, Doc?

Congrats to you, too, Siar!! My most recent attempt ended in my hubby bringing home cigarettes for me - argh!

Wonderful!!!
CONGRATULATIONS. It is pure Hell at first isn't it? Worth the pain though. This is like Purgatory to a Catholic---Seems like Hell but, you will be better for it in the long run--lol

Congrats to ALL who manage to quit smoking- let my mother be an example of what can happen if you don't: she smoked from age 14 to 50, at least a pack a day, and then ended up with emphysema. She had a lung replaced three years ago, lucky for her, but is still on oxygen and has yet to regain any of the former mobility and energy she had before it all kicked in.
Keep it up, ladies and gents!

I'm making my fiance try hypnotherapy. Many people have had sucess with it.
I've watched about 14 people I've known over the years die of cancer and it's the most horrible thing you can imagine. It would kill me to see that happen to him....or any of my smoker friend on Y!A...that means you penguin...
It's only about $350 for four sessions, which is usually enough. It removes the psychological compulsion to smoke.
So should I book two appointments? One for my fiance and one for the cute lil penguin? ((((((IWF))))))
PS. Congrats to Ol' Doc!!! Good for you!

Good job, Doc!! I haven't had a cigarette for over 9 years. I wasn't really a heavy smoker, so I guess that's why it was so easy for me to stop. Plus, I developed an allergy to the smoke, so that was a great incentive as well.
