new computer fail to boot, tried reinstalling vista but its asking for cd key which i dont have.?

i have use cd key finder but it only work if im on windows. is there any other way where i can search for the cd key with the hard drive plug into my other comp as an extra storage

Some computers like Dell may have those numbers on a tag with a upc the side of the computer.
