My goal was to believe and believe until I had an epiphany.
It didn't work, and that is why I am agnostic/atheist.

well some good answers thus far. I not deny your beliefs. I tried to embrace them for years. Yet no matter what ritual I preformed or participate in I found the same questions still there. I tried and tried to just accept the word of god as such.
I have had an epiphany.
I guess YOU could say God made me a non believer.

Our goal is not to deny and deny until we have an epiphany. Our goal is to not accept false teachings. We search for the truth based upon fact not your mythical stories.
"God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?" - The Mad Man from The Gay Science written by Nietzche

Absent some incontrivertible evidence, there is nothing to deny.
Atheism is wrongly thought of as an anti- or a belief against something. This gives a negative connotation.
I like to think more in terms of "post-deism" or "post-religious" meaning beyond, or after the religions of ancient times.

I do not believe in any gods or supernatural beings. I deny nothing. This is my belief. You have yours and I have mine. If I get an epiphany, I'll let you know. BTW...in what way does that concern you?

I have no goal other than trying to shake sense into people (when they accost me, otherwise, I mind my own). I have an idea of a world I would like to live in, and willful and persisting ignorance is not any part of it.

To deny something would be to believe in it. Most atheists don't deny God they just simply don't care about the idea of God.

Hardly.
Apparently a fairy dies everytime you say they don't exist but I don't have time to waste trying to kill off things that don't exist in the first place.
If we're atheists we must have already had an epiphany, right?

On a day to day basis I don't even think about it. Its just not important at all. My atheism only comes out when I decide to come here for a bit.
Atheist.
