Agree, the Global warming, is natural, now that the Northwest Passage is open between Warm and cold water, it will speed up the melting of North Pool.

Possibly. Possibly not. Maybe it would be easier to cope with some cooling, with modern technology. At least the low lying land wouldn't flood.

But the real answer is that we shouldn't be messing with an experiment in massive climate change. We should let nature take its' course.

There is a natural "carbon cycle" that recycles CO2. But it's a delicate balance and we're messing it up.

Look at this graph.

The little squiggles are nature doing its' thing. CO2 falls a bit during summer when plants are active, and rises during the winter. The huge increase is us, burning fossil fuels. The scientists can actually show that the increased CO2 in the air comes from burning fossil fuels by using "isotopic ratios" to identify that CO2. The natural carbon cycle buried carbon in fossil fuels over a very long time, little bit by little bit. We dig them up and burn them, real fast. That's a problem.

Man is upsetting the balance of nature. We need to fix that.

I heard that, based on Body count, yes far more died from cold than heat, but you do have the Black Plague I believe when warming set about increasing rat populations. Scientists are so confused now we won't know whats happening. While many scientist under the IPCC agree apparently with Global warming , there is a lot of debate amongst them about How, why, when and where. The IPCC has successfully stifled all the argument and come out with statement that keeps most happy. those not happy and vocal about it usually get ostracized and find their scientific funding cut.

There are certainly advantages to a warmer planet but for most of the advantages there's a more pronounced opposing disadvantage. On top of that there's a great many disadvantages unique to a warming planet.

For example, crop yields increase in warmer temps.. This only applies to certain crops in certain parts of the world, the net effect is a decline in crop yields and this averages out at a 10% decline for each 1°C rise in temps.

In some countries hypothermia claims many lives, as the world warms there have been less deaths as a result. However, there are many times more people living in hot climates than cold ones and the increase in mortality rates through heat exhaustion, exposure and other hot weather related condition far exceeds the number of lives saved.

Disease is another good example - germs, viruses, bacteria, disease vectors all thrive in warmer temps. As the world warms diseases are moving into new areas, areas where, until recently, it was too cold for them to exist. The World Health Organisation concludes that there has been a net increase of 150,000 more deaths and 10,000,000 more infections each year as a consequence of global warming, the figure is on course to double in the next 20 years.

I don't know whether global warming is better than an ice age, but I do know that Trever took something he shouldn't have or didn't take something he should have with the comments he's comming out with.
