People often ask if they can borrow one of my school assignments so they can copy my answers. I don't want people to cheat off of me like that. Also, I am sometimes asked if I can go hang out with a person that I don't like. How can I say "No" politely in these situations?

As far as the homework goes, I take a light-hearted, semi-sarcastic route (said with a smile):

"What? I spend all night busting my tail doing the work so you can spend five minutes reaping the benefits - explain to me how that makes sense? You best get cracking - you've got an hour to work on it, and I'm not bailing your sorry butt out again."

As far as the hanging out with someone you don't like, I'd just say, "No, thanks, I've got other plans already." Even if your other plans are simply NOT spending time with that person. Good luck!

oh dear that's too bad... If you don't mind causing a bit of a sir write out two sets of answers, one right and one wrong and give the wrong ones away. it'll teach the offenders a lesson. If this is a bit too confrontational, why not take the person to one side and say

"Look I know youare used to borrowing my home work but this is the last time I'm letting you do it. I don't think it's fair that I work hard while you are out enjoying yourself and then let you take the credit for my work. So after today please don't ask to see my work because you'll only get offended when I say No."

Re: hanging out; always make sure you have somewhere else to be, a class, meeting your folks, going home, carry a book to read so if you need to, you can sit on your own and read rather than hang out. Above all do not be ashamed at saying no. It's not right other people should take the credit for work that you've done.

Good luck, hope this helps.

If it's a friend asking for your homework and you did the homework already, maybe you could ask what they need help with. Just say, "yea, the homework was super easy, what question did you need help with?". Or just say that you don't have the assignment on you, or you didn't do it, or you don't quite understand it. In these cases it is ok to lie.

If someone you don't like invites you out, just say that you're busy - you need to help your mom do stuff, you have other commitments, family things. Eventually if you keep rejecting someone, they'll get the hint and stop liking you.

For school assignments: Just say: Sorry, I need it to study off of, or something like that.

Hanging out: Ahh! This happens to me all the time!
Excuse #1: I'm not aloud
Excuse #2: Sorry, I have other plans
Excuse #3: I'm busy tonight
Etc.
Don't be scared to say no! If people find that your too, well, nice then they may take advantage of you. That already happened to me, and let me say... NOT A PRETTY SITE!

if the only reason they hang out with u is to copy your homework then i would say something like this - "do i know u" and ignore them! about the boyfriend part if they ask u out than say something like this- "relationships need alot of attention and i am not ready for them sense i constrate all my time on studying, maybe in a few years!" but if they keep on annoying u just like i said ignore them, it realy helps! no matter how nice u refuse there r still some people that will be mad at u!!

sometimes you can't so you have to be firm instead. when someone wants to borrow a school assignment just tell them they won't learn anything that way or to do it themselves. If someone asks you to hang out with someone you don't like tell that you have to -- - and then think of something. Good for you for sticking up for what you think is right!!

In situation one, I would say I am sorry and I am not trying to be mean, but I am not comfortable with you copying my answers.

In situation two, I would say I appreciate the offer, but I don't really feel up to going out tonight or I would say I am sorry I have other plans.

To scenario #1: Just say, "I'm sorry, but that would be dishonest. Besides, you will benefit from doing the work yourself."

#2: Just say that you have a prior commitment or your parents like to get to know your friends before you hang out with them.

You could tell them you're not finished and try to help them work through the assignments together. You can enable them to do their own work. I'm sure you don't want to seem like a snitch and say "I'll tell the teacher you're copying my work", but tell them you're not going to get in trouble for sharing your answers and that you'd be happy to work on it with them.
