The younger generation is now being labled as narcissistic. One I dislike labels, because I believe that we can all be who we aspire to be. So when you ask the how can he mature fast enough, to me the only way that will happens is when he is good and ready to mature. You can't change peoples basic personalities, you can help this person, by ignoring his immature antics. This is what new studies are showing that if someones behavior is negative, and it is not harming anyone, than just pretend that you don't even notice what he is doing, don't even acknowledge his immature behavior, and DO acknowledge his mature behavior.

Maybe the main cause of immaturity is egocentrism, the inability to see or care for anything beyond one's own self and one's own needs. When you begin to give and live, truly live, for someone else, you become more mature because your perception is no longer self-centered.

Usually immature people have someone who is taking care of things for them so they don't have to take responsibility for themselves, starting with parents and then often girlfriend or boyfriend. Solution is to stop rescuing and let him sink or swim, like the rest of us.
