Hi Stace
Be very carefull applying Amatop cream over such a large area, you could get systemic toxicity.
Go and see your Doctor, explain that you are going to have this big tatoo and you have a poor pain tollerance, and ask very nicely if he will prescribe you a SINGLE oral dose of Morphine to take just before you go to have it done. It wont stop the pain in total, but it will make it more bareable.
I would suggest a single oral dose of 20mg Morphine Sulphate 1 hour before the procedure.
Most nice doctors will do this for you.

trust me the feet hurt a lot more than on your back ,i don't think about the tat while i'm having it done ,but remember one side of the body will always hurt more than the other,i'd say on the pain scale it'll be a 2 to 3 depending on how well you handle pain, but if you can take it on your feet your back will be a breeze, the only place i found to be quite painful was the base of my spine, good luck with the tat.

I have seven tattoos... arms, stomach, back.... they were all fine. I have however heard from several reliable sources that rib cage is one of the more painful areas.
Good luck!

Tattoo's are known to be painful over 'boney' prominences. The fleshier the area the less pain for you.

If you got some on your feet I wouldn't worry about your back. I've got five going down my spine. I must say, interesting sensation. Let me know how it goes.
