Will Linux Ubuntu 7.04 run on a macintosh Performa 600 without problems? I have the installation disk but don't want to mess up the system!

As long as you still have your mac OS install disk you can always go back to that if it doesn't work.

try a google search on linux install "performa 600" - it would appear that it may be possible. I will let you wade through the articles to find out which ones say how to do it.

No it cannot,

The Performa only has 5MB of RAM and 160MB of harddrive space. Its also a Moto 6800 core I believe, which was never supported under Linux, only 6820 cpu code was.

Min specs are
64 MB of ram (but can probably run on 32 using Xfce desktop, aka xubuntu)
1.5GB HDD space for installation.

DeLi Linux needs at least 16MB of RAM but is only for x86 (i386) cores.

You're out of luck.

Microsoft will always be better than MAC, MAC always will be better than Linux.
