NATO Standarisation Agreement STANAG 4179 dictates that all new NATO 5.56 service rifles are required to be designed to accept the magazines of any other NATO 5.56 rifle. In effect this means that all magazines are more less designed around the M16 magazine.

The magazine for the the SA80 A2 is a copy of M4/16 series magazine

Yes as originally the M-16 magazine was the one used in the SA-80 problems began with the metal magazine wearing away the plastic magazine locking catch a problem that has been resolved now.

Yes but its not ideal, shame cus the m16 clear plastic mags are brilliant. We could do with something similar issued
