Watch out for flea commercials, and ask your vet what will work, tell her or him what you have tried and see what they come upwith!

You're right - the things you've tried don't work!

You've just discovered what I spend my life trying to tell people - you can't get useful flea treatments from pet stores. And exterminators are fine for other insects, but don't seem to be able to manage fleas.

You need to go to a vets to find flea treatment that work. Frontline, Revolution, Advantage and Advocate are all flea treatments that work. These are spot-ons - liquids in a pipette that you apply to the skin on the back of your pet's neck. Get some.

You should spray your house with something decent from a vets as well, you may need to do more than one spray.

There are more useless things on here that people might suggest - dawn dish soap, garlic, putting a light above a bowl of water would all be things not to bother with!

DO NOT use a flea collar. They are posinous and deadly!.. If the dog licks it, he can die. I used to work in animal rescue, and have seen many dogs sick/die from them!

If your flea problem is really that bad that flea bombs won't help, You should really go to your vet and ask them for their help.

I would try the bomb again too.

Revolution is the best flea preventitive out there, way better than Advantage. It prevents against ticks and worms as well. It is costly, but you get what you pay for.

Also, wash EVERY linen in your house, and EVERY piece of clothing too.

Also, SHAMPOO AND VACUUM your carpets, in every room with carpet.

I had this problem when I got new cat she came with company. This is the best thing give it like 2 weeks but it will work. First you can place bowls with water and tea light candles and they are attracted to the heat so they jump right in and drown in the water. Then boil hot water, squeeze a few limons in it and cut up some limons, Let it soak in the hot water for a day then put it in a spray bottle. Spray it around your house and I forgot exactly why but I guess they don't like the citrus and they die. Vacuume a few times and keep spraying and I guarantee they will be gone. This was the best solution for me I tried those house bombs and everything.

You just need to first de-flea your dog and remove her from the house, and then you need to wash EVERYTHING in hot water. Bedding, clothing, curtains, all of it. As far as your carpets... You can try Zodiac flea spray, or you can just steam clean them which I imagine would kill the little buggers.

If you have tile/linoleum/wood floors, I'd reccomend mopping them with Dawn dish soap, which is used on young puppies and kittens to rid them of fleas. Dawn for some reason kills the little nasties. You could also wash your floors with ammonia, but be careful about both the fumes, and the finish on your floor.

dawn dish shoap on the dog & salt on the carpet. Leave the salt down for a couple of days then vacuum.

You should buy him a flea collar because he will be at a lower risk of caching fleas, and when you take him a bath buy the flea shampoo.
