If I am just barely filing for divorce and a friend of a friend asked me to hang out, is it too soon to go with him? He just asked me to go to a Haunted house with him. If my divorce is just starting and not finalized yet, is it too soon to start having some fun?

It is just hanging out. It is not like he is asking you to marry him. Is anytime too soon to have fun? Just because you are getting divorced does not mean you have to sit around and be miserable. Maybe your friends are trying to help you keep your mind off of the bad things in your life and not trying to get you into bed.

You need to decide for yourself. Are you sure you are going to go through with the divorce? How do you feel about it? How are you looking at this invitation - a date or just friends hanging out?

I have yet to see any rules or laws on how long you have to wait after one relationship before you start to live again. I think the answer to that question is within each of us. Do you feel uncomfortable with it? If so, then it is probably too soon for you.

Both myself and my ex husband started seeing other people before our divorce was final (of course our divorce took a year and a half to be finalized). He married the girl he was seeing and it only lasted 5 years. I am still with the man I started seeing and have been with him now for 13 years.

Everyone is different, no one can decide what is right for you but you. What do you think about it?

Did you ever see that movie... Nicholas Cage is in it..

Anyway , I cant remember the name, but he is very close to divorce, but whilst he's still married he basically goes on a date with another woman that seems more fitting for his character. I know this is only a movie and I really dont know where Im going with this , but if youre inline for divorce, then it shouldnt matter whether or not you even go on a date or two whilst still married. As long as your sure you will be divorced, it should be absolutely fine.

Good luck.

Go out and have fun.
Just because you are in the middle of a divorce should not mean you cant go out and have fun.
If you want to just stay at home on your own eating chocolates, crying about your broken heart ,isnt it just becoming the sterotypical breakup for a girl.
Break the mould. And who said you cant have fun.
What right do they have to tell you what you can and cannot do?

Get out there and have fun.
You'll make it a nicer experience.

Don't even think about the timings or you'll never know when is the right time. You just need to get out there and have fun, forget about the old partner and don't turn it to one of the sad people who have 21 cats to share a bed with

Hell, only you can answer that one. But life is short, and if it feels good, go for it. I would.

You need to give yourself to heal. You are in a very vulnerable state right now and too open to being used or hurt. Take good care of yourself and give yourself some time.
