I have some tilapia that can be microwaved. I have two questions.

1. Can it be grilled instead?
2. What are some inexpensive ways of spicing it up without making it spicy? Tilapia has a mild flavor; what kind of marinades or spices could I use besides salt and pepper?

Honestly tilapia taste great with just salt and pepper and a little bit of lemon juice on it. It has such a mild flavor you don't really need to spice it up at all. But sometimes i find that roesmary and a little oregano can really make a fish taste yummy and yes you can grillit but i don't reccoment it because it's sucha small fish it burns very easily even just frying it which iseasier to control thatn grilling.

Make a paste out of mayonnaise and parmesan cheese. Put your tilapia fillets flat side up on a pan or cookie sheet and sprinkle with old bay seasoning. Broil about six inches from heat source for about two minutes. Flip over fillets. Sprinkle with a little more old bay seasoning and then brush the parmesan cheese paste on top of the fillets. Broil for another 3-4 minutes until the parmesan is just browned and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
