I'd like to slap whoever gave away that pup at three weeks. Puppies are supposed to stay with their litter and dam until at least 8 weeks of age, 12 is even better.
However, I think the aggression would have shown itself before now. 4 years is a bit late. Find a good behaviorist, and take the dog to the vet to make sure the aggressive behavior isn't being caused by a medical problem.
Best of luck.

The person who gave her to you that early was wrong. However at this point it's not about wrong or right, it's about what you need to do to correct the problem before it gets worse. First, get her spayed if you haven't already. Second enroll in obedience training and speak to a trainer/behaviorist about what you've noticed. Aggression comes in several forms, each caused by a different stimulus. Start googling "aggression in dogs" or a variation. You need to nip it in the bud and yes pit bulls can be trained to redirect the aggression into a positive behavior.

Pit Bulls are usually aggressive because the breed is used for dog fighting. I don't see how taking it away too early could cause aggression. Good luck! :)

You shouldn't have taken her that early. She never had time to "learn to be a dog" from her mother.
If it's only starting to show now, I wouldn't think that it was related to her being taken when so young. (Unless she's suddenly meeting more dogs or something, and is unsure of how to act...her instinctive reaction, because of breeding, is aggression.)
Find out what is triggering her aggression and work with her on it.
Though if it's dog-aggression it may be too late. Did you socialize her while she was young? With people and humans? If so, you have to keep on that, and not let up.
And if she's not spayed. Spay her. Being intact causes emotional swings as well. Not to mention if you spay her, you're decreasing her risk of cancer.

HUH?? She became aggressive suddenly NOW.. It's got nothing to do with when she was removed from her mom..
Could be lack of proper training.. But if it's truly suddenly, then you got to go to the vet and find out what the problem might be.
You are bad for taking a puppy at 3 weeks of age.. very very very bad.

I don't believe you did anything wrong. 3 wks. is early to take away a dog from its mother or any animal for that matter because they still need mother's milk and usually shouldn't be weened until 6 wks. But if your dog isn't spayed this may be part of her aggression. Consider getting her spayed if she isn't and this usually calms animals down.

Taking a pup away from it's litter too soon can seriously hamper its social skills with other dogs.
Take your dog to obedience training. Stay away from Petco and Petsmart. Their training is shoddy at best. Find a trainer who is used to working with large headstrong breeds. Watch them teach a class or work with someone else, explain your problem to them and see what they advise. Obedience training for these dogs is an absolute must.

Can't imagine anyone "getting" a pup at 3 weeks. Especially a pitbull. The dog couldn't learn ANY basic doggie skills.
Best of luck and perhaps get serious now.

Well the dog was definitely taken from his mother too soon. Bot you need to correct the dog when he becomes aggressive so that he learns that this in not appropriate.
