thundercatt9: How funny that you and others (specially 'tuberoot') keep using the same definition of religion. Are you another one of tuberoot's accounts?

No it can't be. Atheists don't believe there's a god, what are they supposed to do forming a religion, not worshiping something they don't think they don't believe in? Doesn't even make sense.
Evolution is a scientific theory, how can it be a religion? Is gravity a religion?

Of course atheism is a religion, using the definition, "A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion." And there is the fact that they can't prove there isn't a God, makes it a belief system as well.
Edit:
re·li·gion (r-ljn) KEY
NOUN:
1.
a. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
b. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.
2. The life or condition of a person in a religious order.
3. A set of beliefs, values, and practices based on the teachings of a spiritual leader.
4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.
religion - Dictionary definition and pronunciation - Yahoo! Education
You need faith to believe that God doesn't exist...because we cannot prove that He doesn't exist. Therefore, you need some faith to believe he isn't there. Maybe he is...no one can PROVE it either way. It's all about faith.
I would say that being agnostic is not a religion however.
Just my two cents.
Hey ... I like the name "tuberoot," but alas he is not me!

Atheism is not a religion, but it is a point of view regarding religion. Therefore, its perfectly acceptable for atheism to be discussed in this forum.
Also, evolution is not a religion, but it is a hot topic *relating* to religion and therefore its acceptable to discuss it here as well.

I think it is now, I'm not sure of how many people are Atheists but I think a good enough percentage. And yes, I am an Atheist, well Pagan-Evolutionist. I think there must be something out there, but yet I'm compelled to belive in the theory of Evolution.

Do not insult atheists - Do not insult evolution. They are not a matter of belief or faith but of fact and study.

The question you asked and the link you cited are inconsistent; what's your point.
Religions have a dogma, a deity, and detailed behavioral guidelines. Atheism and "evolution" do not have any of these things.
