Yeah, I am lonely. But seriously. I am not into the romantic passion. Commitment with intimacy is my definition of love. My friends who believe in companion love have stayed together for over 10 years.

Companion love must be great, but most people want more than that cos the romantic passion part is so much fun and can be the most intimate thing in my opinion. I am sure there is companion love around still but is hard to find.

Ah, that's the difference between how men and women are wired. Most men are happy with little more than commitment & intimacy, but most women gotsta have the whole passion and romance scenerio, and maybe even a bit of drama or something like that. All and all, it's not a bad trade off.

Trust issues are hard to ever get completely back. The fact that he isn't pulling his fair share around the house is of concern and that he gets mad at you for telling him how you feel is disrespectful. Depending on if you are yelling telling him or just trying to talk to him. Men don't like to be told what to do, they like to be asked. That is what I seemed to of found out. But asking doesn't always work either. What would happen if you stopped doing everything for him? Emotional connection in a marriage is very important and you can't save your marriage if only one person is willing to work on it. It takes two. Eveyone suggest counseling which you could try if you think he would consider it, or you can get some individual counseling to work on getting you to a point of doing what you need to do to be happy. You both are role models to your children and what kind of relationship you have with your spouse shows your children that it an ok relationship. If you husband doesn't listen to you when you are telling him how you feel write him a letter expression your thoughts and feelings. Don't do it in an attacking manner, becareful how you have things come across to him. Men don't like to feel as if they are inadequate so try hard not to do that even though that may be how you are truely feeling. Best of luck to you.

what is companion love? Is that the same as friends with benefits?

In order to love someone, one must LIKE first. Without liking someone, I dont believe it's possible to love that someone. Thus in my opinion, LIKE is so very much stronger than LOVE. And much less painful as well.

Obviously it is if your friends are still involved in it. And there are still those out there who feel along the same lines as you, they're just harder to find in this day and age.
