If you want to get something unique you should have a look at http://www.design-yer-own.com They have over 200 different items that you can put your own design on (you upload a photo or image file) and their prices are great - I found their website about 6 months ago looking for something special for the Grandparents, Aunties and Uncles of my New Born Son - I gave them all a Cherrywood Framed Ceramic Tile With a Picture of My New Family on and when they arrived the quality was Amazing and the Family Loved them. They also do T-Shirts, Watches, Mugs etc so theres plenty to choose from. Design-Yer-Own.com have always delivered within 10 days on all of my orders (Yes, I've used them quite alot since I found them). The first order I made was at my door in six days, considering they ship from Hong Kong I think that is Amazing.
I'm going to stop going on now as I sound like an advert for Design Yer Own but I really think a Unique & Personal Gift is the way to go. I hope this helps in your decision.

The tackiest wedding gift is also the most appreciated. You don't know if they need a toaster or a microwave oven (most people don't).
I suggest that you give cash. Buy some silk flowers. Arrange them into a lei. Put $1 and $5 and $10 all over it. Staple them with a stapler. Put it on the bride's neck right after the ceremony. It's in all of the pictures. You only have to give $25, $30, $50 or $100 or even more, it's up to you...... but it will look great! It's very imaginative. It's greatly appreciated. It's something that you know they really need and want. They won't ever have to exchange it or return it.
I did this for my niece's college graduation party and she loved it. It feels GREAT to walk around your own reception wearing a bunch of money. I have pictures of her happy smile wearing her money clustered Haiwain lei.

Do a google or yahoo search for "wedding wish list", and lots of ideas come up, from items for kitchen, bedroom, even garden. One person wanted a hammock, but I would tend to play safe with bedlinen or towels - boring perhaps, but there is always a place for them in a new home. I attended one wedding where the happy couple were given parachute jumps - different, eh?
Ask your boyfriend where the new home will be, and its state of readiness. They may be glad to receive small furniture items, or perhaps nice cushions for their couch or a voucher for a framed wedding photo to hang on the wall, that they can avail of later. Whatever you choose, enjoy the day

Check their wedding registry and see what they might be needing - If you are not able to get what they want due to $ - just give them a gift card for the store of their choice or just $ in a card... Have fun and enjoy the wedding.

Pitch in with your boyfriend. It is his sister after all and I am sure you were invited as his partner. So it is fine to give a combined gift with both names on the card.
Find out if they have a registry and choose off of that. It is the easiest way. Add $50 to whatever your boyfriend is spending and there is your price range.

It all depends on the woman's tastes. Find out from your bf what sorts of things the lady likes and buy accordingly. You could also aim at a more neutral gift. A great idea might be to get a favourite photograph turned into a painting.
Recently my inlaws had their 40th WA, we arranged for portaits for them and paid for them ourselves but they didn't turn out how we wanted but we made do and then I recently came across a business that I WISH I'd known of then.
They take a photograph and turn it into a painting. Take a look at their web-site, it may be the perfect gift.

If they're not registered (some people who get married register at a store so you can see what is on their "wish list") or you can buy them something that they can use like a home appliance such as;
toaster
microwave
blender
toaster oven
crock pot
Tupperware
Silverware
etc.
