I have a friend who works at the Starbucks at PCH/Trancas
canyon and shes takes the bus yet PCH is closed to a fire
how will she get home? (she doesn'tdrive)
she lives in Santa Monica
will she be stuck at work?
I cant call her since she never answer her phone!

If the the road is closed she may be stuck at work. If she is evacuated she may be taken to a evacuation center. If she has a cell phone cantact her and see if there is anyone that can help and pick her up. Her not answering the phone is a problem. In fact, she should be taken to task for not answerig it during an emergency.
ps.: I heard that Trancas is on the other side of the fire, so I am sure she is safe. they have started evacuating people and animals to Agoura High school. I am sure if she needed help she would call you. They have announce that only property is at risk at this time. Everyoone is leaving that needs to leave. Try not to worry she will be ok.

Aaaaawh man! It is gonna be a B*tch getting out of Malibu if PCH is blocked. Her only alternative, taking one of the canyon roads that are open, going through the San Fernando Valley > taking the 101 to the 405 to the 10 or Wilshire Blvd. But then again, she has not car. It really sucks, she's gonna have trouble. I would just not go into work. MALIBU is a trap!!!!

PCH is closed from Kanan to Topanga and the fire is getting closer to Topanga- expect that to widen the closures. All canyon passes are obviously closed.. She should walk across the street to Zuma beach- it is literally across the street from Sbucks- they have an evacuation center there. I am sure others will need to also get out- unfortunately they are gonna have a long trip up and around.. The canyons wont be open for quite a while.
I know b/c I live off right there, my mom lives on the beach there.... Your friend needs to learn to answer her phone if there is a problem!!

That's a tough one Mark....If you can't figure it out no one can...
Maybe call the bus co. and see what they are doing or recommend.
A friend with a car //---to Oxnard, 101 to 405 ????
The only roads I ever use, the canyon road and PCH are both closed !!

Not all of PCH is closed.
Check the news and have her call the MTA.
Maybe, if you don't have any other options, you can take up a collection so she can take a taxi.

She and others can walk to the closest place that is open to traffic and share a taxi.
