I'm 15, close to 16. Now somebody told me that he had friends younger than me who had gone on missions trips to build housing and stuff; Now I don't know if he was lying because I thought you had to be 16 to do things like that.

I wonder if you went with a group that had a adult group leader with you it wouldn't make any difference what your age was. Or perhaps with your family. And probably there would be areas that would be considered dangerous for you to be in, and that may be why there is an age limit.
I would say check out all requirements. They should tell you up front what ages and physical requirement will be.
And I admire you for your charitable thoughts and actions. Too many youth think only of themselves rather than helping others.

I have been on two mission trips this summer, nobody said anything about an age limit. If you get the opportunity go and you will enjoy it, I promise.
