I'm already seeing alot of chatter about the coming holidays...will we see the same PC b.s. again this year?
Why, oh why, do people get so irritable over such small matters as what greeting people use over the holidays?
I'm a Christian, so, of course, for me, it is "Merry Christmas".
I have no problem at all with the Jewish "Happy Hanukkah", or the African "Happy Kwanzaa", or the Pagan "Blessed Yuletide", or any other such greeting, nor would I be offended to see it in stores such as WalMart or J.C. Penney...
Why, oh why, are people so adamant about keeping me from enjoying MY Christmas as usual? How does it offend anyone if I wish them a "Merry Christmas", or if they see this greeting displayed in a store, for gracious sake? Are we THAT oversensitive?

Like the Grinch, folks ought to realize...they cannot keep Christmas from coming. I and my Christian brothers and sisters will still be singing "Oh Holy Night"...this year and every year until the end of time.

I'm really, really, really sorry if that bothers you...

I do wish people would get it through their thick, arrogant skulls...
It isn't Christians trying to force our beliefs on other people...it is only that we are fighting to keep what belongs to us.
It has been "Christmas" for centuries...and it has meant "Peace on Earth" for all that time.
Seriously, even in wartime, Christmas called for a "cease fire".
Too bad the P.C. people have taken this away, as well!!

I'm not Christian and I'm fine with people wishing me "Merry Christmas". I wouldn't be offended if I saw "Merry Christmas", and other religious holiday greetings up in places. That's just me though.

I have honestly never heard anyone try to prevent the celebration of Christmas. I just think that people are starting to realize that we live in such a diverse society that its better to err on the side of caution than make anyone feel excluded. After all, the holidays are supposed to be a time of unity rather than a time of division.

And how you celebrate Christmas in your home with your family is your personal business, so I have no idea how the opinions of others regarding holiday greetings can affect you enjoying YOUR Christmas as usual.

What's wrong with 'Happy Holidays'? Really. There are various holidays all going on at the same time. Why do we need to acknowledge every one of them separately? We aren't a separatist nation, at least we're not supposed to be.

We shouldn't favor any religion. If we are a nation of equality then the American thing to do would be to say Happy Holidays when it's concerning the general public. Who cares if you say to someone who is Christian "Merry Christmas", but to anyone else that could be offensive. It's the moral decision and only right to address all religious celebrations as equal.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how the more inclusive "happy holidays" is offensive or how it keeps you from enjoying your Christmas as usual.

Since you do celebrate it, though, Merry Christmas in advance.

This is bull. The ones who protest and make the most noise are those trying to force "christmas" into being the only holiday around that time.

its the time of year when toy manufacturers(christian or otherwise) sing what a friend we have in JESUS!!i personally don't believe messiah was born on DEC 25.the boffins recon Feb or Sept.i think each first day of the week is appropriate to celebrate. for many DEC 25 only means financial hardship and memories of departed loved ones.but for me personally it is enough that he was born, trampled down death by death, and is coming back soon and may we be counted worthy to stand before HIM

The vast majority of people don't care, and the whole problem is actually just in the imagination of people like you, who in reporting the "problem" are actually making it worse.
