I doubt the human race will exist then. Our consciousness though is another matter.
I seriously imagine people will be teleporting by thought by the end of this century. Now that religion has lost its hold and all sorts of TV shows, etc are on about humans having such special abilities, we'll have a rapid mental evolution.
The veil will drop when we realize it is us. The next few centuries should be a time of fun, rapid change in the collective conscious overall.

Evolutionarily speaking, the law of "survival of the fittest" will apply.
Several species have gone completely extinct since the planet was formed. We are just another species. And the way we are going, we will be extinct long before evolution changes us.
The laws of the universe will always apply. Man, with his opposable thumb and large brain, has survived for quite some time. But, he's caused a lot of problems, befouled the earth with his waste, caused wars, plagues, genocide, exploited every natural resource to it's detriment.... I don't think the human race as we know it will be around in 100 million years.

Evolution is "survival of the fittest." But mankind is not living by that rule. We have found treatments for many genetic diseases that would ordinarily kill people, treatments for diseases that are usually lethal and in many ways, stopped evolution as a means of improving the species.
What we have now is de-evolution. All those weaknesses that would kill now do not. So 100 years from now, it is quite likely everyone will have some genetic disease that will require them to get constant medical care. Diabetes, scoliosis, Tay Sachs, Hemophilia, etc.
The only saving part is genetic engineering but the holy rollers are opposed to that. They totally accept medical care that allows mankind to go downhill genetically, but they oppose medical care that could actually wipe out the genetic defects.
If religion wins, man will become a very weak, sickly creature. If science and region wins, we will beat all the genetic diseases, be stronger, smarter, and we will have a Brave New World.
What a choice. ROFL.

no sign of developing wings. What use would they be? The evolutionary steps now are not likely to be biological. More likely to do with 'on giants shoulders'. This is evolution by knowledge. You see, to produce changes now, we use the information from technology and science and develop what we need. We do not need wind because we fly already. We do not need to grow super powers like lifting tonnes with our hands because I can do it with my little finger. We evolve because I can communicate with the dead. I can 'talk' to every scientist and technologist because I can read their books.
Without Babbage, Turin would not have invented the computer and you would not be able to ask questions of the whole world.

HH Wells wrote about the human race spillting into two species, as a result of two classes.
the upper classes became the eloi, a delicate and artistic race
and the lower orders became morlocks, cannabalistic monsters that lived underground.
scientists now expect something along these lines will actually happen. that the result will indeed be two species, which will be [essentially] endomorphs and entomorphs.

I think maybe the human race was a mistake and that the earth will cleanse itself of us and start over with a smart beetle or something to that effect. I doubt whether this planet can stand another 50 years of man's disregard for his environment. We're too greedy to take drastic measures to save ourselves.

Hopefully our next step in evolution will be to finally reject all of these fairy-tales called 'religion' and learn to finally, as a species, work together for the common good, instead of the selfish jingoism that plagues us right now.

We will have big heads and small bodies(because our brains are forever growing), like aliens...We will have terrible immune system because of technology. It will make us lazy and it will take away our natural ability to fight of germs. We will live in controled enviroment, where we will be afraid to venture outside without the use of protection. But because we are smarter we will adapt. But in the end the virus will be our # 1 enemy!

i think that with the advance in technology at the rate it is increasing we are not far off from selective evolution you will be able to give your body the genetics you desire-then the human body will be limited by a persons desire and imagination--smile and enjoy the day
