Not only do you have to keep your brain on, you also have to OPEN your mind to the concept that God exists. Then you have a chance that religion will make sense to you. Perhaps those have been your two mistakes all along.

try switching off the part of your arrogance that thinks that everyone else definitely has the same perspective of the world as you do.
then you might realize that different people legitimately experience the world in different ways, which leads them to make different conclusions.
