I want to go back to school to get a degree in nursing. I have wanted to be a nurse since 16, the only reason I got my first BS degree in a non-nursing field is because the nursing faculty told me that 2nd degree programs are easier to get in to. Now, I want to go back and get the degree I originally planned on (BSN), but I have been told that I will not be able to qualify for any grants because I already have a degree and will have to rely on loans. Is this true? I live in Nebraska now and my first BS degree is from University of Northern Colorado.

It is true about not qualifying for the Pell Grant for a second Bachelors degree. I know from personal experience and talking to the financial aid office at a local community college. However, there are pleanty of scholarship and loan forgiveness programs for nursing though. I will include a list of them. Good luck!
