I also have a red brick house and I'm considering Sherwin Williams' "blackberry" and "majolica green" for my home. I think I'd use the green on the door & around the windows, and then blackberry on the gables.

There are quite a few shades of red, so I will do my best.
First, look at the neighbors on either side of you, and the one directly across from you. Try not to use the same shade.
[ If there house isn't brick, it won't matter as much. ]
Second, use a darker shade for door, shutters; and lighter shade for trim, frames.
Also accent with any outdoor furniture, and flowering plants.
Choices:
white, ivory
beige, tan, brown
gray, black
dusty rose, burgundy [ depends on brick shade ]
peach, terra cotta, rust [ again, depends on shade of bricks ]
yellow, mustard
sage, emerald, hunter, or olive green
aqua, turquoise, teal
sky, royal, smoke
lavender, purple

I always love a classic look, with red brick I would say white trim and a black door.
If you don't like that look a really great colour is
Benjamin Moore: Willow HC-?
pair this with beige trim.

Maybe the door should be a light cream color, and the window trims should be like a crimson red, or maroon?(i like the crimson)
*My neighbor has those colors and it looks fantastic*

Cream for the trims. I would paint the door a nice green, like the one Yahoo answers use on their template. or darker.
Or a greyish blue. LIke cobalt, but not so bright.
